My name is Susanna Bradford and I am the founder of Westwood Academy Tutors. My journey in education began in 2002 as a high school biology and chemistry teacher. Over the years, my path evolved through middle school math and science, and eventually into elementary education, where I have spent the remainder of my career teaching students from kindergarten through Grade 6. This wide range of experience has given me a deep understanding of how children learn at different stages and how foundational skills develop over time.

Alongside my professional life, I have always valued maintaining a healthy balance with family. As a parent of two children, I experienced firsthand the challenges that many families face as academic demands increase—particularly during the high school years. Like many parents, we discovered that our children were far more receptive to learning when guided by someone outside of the household. With just a little extra support, we saw a remarkable difference in their confidence, understanding, and overall success.

That experience reinforced something I had long believed as an educator: individual attention can make an extraordinary difference, especially in today’s classrooms where large class sizes often limit one-on-one support. Tutoring is about meeting the needs of a student and helping them to reach their potential.

From that belief, Westwood Academy Tutors was born.

Our tutors are exceptional students themselves—recent high school graduates, upper-year high school students, and university-level scholars who excel in the subjects they teach. We intentionally select tutors who are not only academically strong, but also personable, approachable, and able to truly connect with their students. Because they have recently completed the same curriculum, they understand the material deeply and are uniquely attuned to the pressures and challenges students face today.
